Spider-Men II finally addressed one of Marvel's longest-running mysteries, but fans might not be happy with the answer.
Warning: this article contains spoilers for Spider-Men II #2!
The original Spider-Men mini-series ended on an unusual cliffhanger in 2012, with Peter Parker returning home and Googling Miles Morales' name, curious to see if the Marvel Universe had its own version of Miles. Peter seemed shocked by the results, but readers never did learn what he found. Until now, that is.

Unfortunately, that reveal doesn't necessarily live up to five years of build-up. In this issue, Peter admitted that his online search turned up... nothing.

Strangely, the first issue of Spider-Men II revealed that there is, in fact, a Miles Morales in the regular Marvel Universe who existed long before the other Miles made the jump from the now-dead Ultimate Universe. This other Miles is older, covered in scars and apparently a major player in the criminal underworld. This Miles has a vested interest in keeping his identity a secret, which probably explains why Peter couldn't find a single search result on him.
Still, why would Peter show such a shocked reaction to finding nothing? And why did he seem so reluctant to discuss the subject with Miles in this issue? It's possible that Peter isn't telling the whole truth and that there's still more to this five-year mystery than meets the eye.
